Yesterday's Tools (Select, Move, Transform, Using Layers)

Select
Remember, there are a number of selection tools to help you in various situations. Holding down the 'option' key will allow you to make your selection tool into a deselection tool. You can deselect and entire selection by pressing CMD+d, or going to the Select Menu and choosing deselect.

Move
This one is easy. If you want to know the hotkey, it's 'v'. You'll use it a lot.

Transform
When you have a selection made (or a discreet chunk of image in a separate layer), you can hit CMD+t to transform it's scale, rotate it, etc. If you go to the Edit Menu, you'll find there are other transform options that can be fun and useful.

Layers
Remember to use layers, and use them often!! When you've finished this project, you should have a collection of many layers. You can drag them up and down in the layer palette to bring them forward or backward in the stack of layers. You can also merge layers together, or flatten the entire image if you need to. These options are available in the 'Layers Menu'. We'll look at layers in more detail on Thursday.
